Houston 2008 Major Thoroughfare and Freeway Plan
The City of Houston will be holding an open house and public hearing regarding amendments to the 2008 Major Thoroughfare and Freeway Plan (MTFP). The plan which calls for the Southeast rail line to border the UH campus to the west on Scott Street and south along Wheeler Street will be displayed during the Open House on Thursday, July 9, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the United Way Community Resource Center at 50 Waugh Drive, Houston, TX 77007. City and METRO officials will be present to discuss the plan and answer questions. Attendees will also be able to complete and submit a form with thoughts and comments. Fall Student Permit Registration Opens July 1st
The Fall 2009 student parking permit registration period will officially open on July 1, 2009. Online registration was delayed this year to transition to a new website that will make registration simple and quick. For more information and to see a preview of the new website click here. Parking and Transportation recommends that all students register online as soon as possible to avoid standing in long lines and to avoid parking tickets.

UH Garage #2 Contruction Update
A significant portion of UH Garage #2 showing the full height of the parking garage. Construction will continue through the summer adding more pieces of the precast structure.

Summer Registration is Open
Student Summer Registration is now open on MyUH (PeopleSoft). Students will need to be registered for summer classes before they can purchase a permit.

2009-2010 Staff Permit Registration Opens
The 2009-2010 Faculty/Staff permit registration period begins on May 1, 2009 and runs through June 30, 2009. Staff can register using the staff registration website at https://ssl.uh.edu/parking/staffregistration/ .
